SERVICES

Children with ADHD (Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder), Aspergers, Autism and other developmental and spectrum disorders experience the world a little differently than those without. Common daily tasks such as focusing, listening, filtering out distractions, can effect academic and social performance.

Neurofeedback is a non-invasive process for training the brain in self-regulation. Self-regulation training enhances the function of the central nervous system and thereby improves mental performance, emotional control and physiological stability.

For over 35 years, I have been working with couples and families to help them grow, interact and communicate in healthy and productive ways. My therapeutic process provides tools to resolve communication issues and has the ability to turn arguments into productive conversations.

Whether you’re a golfer or a Business executive your performance may be affected by insecurities, fears, unrealistic expectations or an unconscious sabotage. These and other hurdles can keep you from taking the next step or facing the next challenge in building a successful career.

NON-MEDICINAL TREATMENT

No parent wants to see their child on medication.  However, when you are dealing with a child who cannot control their behavior, what other options do you have. The standard of care has been to medicate and continues to be the first line of defense with pediatricians and schools.  We now have another option. Neurofeedback is a non-invasive treatment that helps train the brain to more optimal performance and has demonstrated an ability to address many of the symptoms of ADHD, Asperger’s and Autism.

What is Psychotherapy

Psychotherapy is the treatment of emotional difficulties and/or mental illnesses in a safe non-judgmental atmosphere. It is used to alleviate and/or eliminate emotional distress caused by a variety of life events. There are several types of psychotherapy treatments available, which are often used in conjunction with other affective therapies. Therapy sessions can be short term, addressing more immediate and current issues, to long-term sessions addressing more deep-seeded and intricate issues. Psychotherapy is used to treat groups, couples, individuals and especially children.

About 75 percent of people who enter psychotherapy show some benefit from it. Psychotherapy has been shown to improve emotions and behaviors and to be linked with positive changes in the brain and body. The benefits also include fewer sick days, less disability, fewer medical problems, and increased work and relationship satisfaction.

What is ADHD?

ADHD is a far more common mental condition that effects people, which starts during childhood--and more often than not--into adulthood, than most would like to accept.  ADHD is, at times, not diagnosed as a reason why children may display disruptiveness, low motivation or lack of attention. This is largely due to the fact that there is a lack of knowledge on behalf of parents and educators of the condition. Your child may categorized under one of three subtypes of ADHD, such as; Predominantly Inattentive Type, Predominantly Hyperactive-Impulsive Type, or a combination of the two types. Symptoms include some or all of the following; hyperactivity, difficulty with focus and concentration, impulsiveness and constant fidgetiness.

Our non-medicinal approach is designed to improve your child's ability to learn, process information and to lead a more productive and confident educational & personal life.
